5 ways to increase your conversion rate

If you are selling products, whether they are your own products or affiliate products, conversion rate is something that will make or break your business. The conversion rate can be anywhere from 1% to 50%, of course the higher the better. Here are some ways to improve your conversion rate.
1. Quality of your products or your affiliate products – If the product that you are selling sucks, chances are you will get a lot of refunds. So if you are making your own product, make sure it is a quality one. Do some research on your niche, and make sure the product you are selling is relatively good compared to your competitors. If you are selling affiliate products, you should always ask for a review copy of the product. Some vendors will give you a free copy while others will reject you. However, there is nothing to lose by asking. If you don’t like the product yourself, then you shouldn’t be promoting it.
2. Sales Page – How does the sales page look like? Does it look convincing? Ask yourself this question: If you are a visitor, would you be interested in buying something from this site? If your answer is no, then you shouldn’t promote that affiliate product. If it is your own product, then you must improve the sales page. If you are not able to do it on your own, hire somebody to do it for you, whether it is the website design or content writing or even both. If that’s too expensive, then try Squeeze Theme. 3. Presell Page – If you are promoting an affiliate product, you should spend some time creating your presell page instead of copying from your vendors. I’ve seen a lot of internet marketers do that when they promote Clickbank products. This is bad for two reasons. One reason is your visitors will basically see two identical sales pages which is not good. The other reason is you are creating duplicate content and this is bad for SEO.
4. Use buyer keywords - There are two types of visitors that come to your site, buyers and information seekers. The buyers are in the buy mood and are ready to buy a product where as information seekers are just looking for information. Obviously, the conversion rate for buyers will be much higher than to convince an information seeker to buy something on your site. Therefore, you should target a lot of buyer keywords and that will bring a lot of visitors from search engines. Some buyer keywords include but not limited to the following:
buy
purchase
best
review
model numbers
brand names
cheap
5. Be honest to your visitors – If you want your visitors to keep coming back to your site and buy more products, you should always be honest to them. If there are certain drawbacks of an affiliate product that you are promoting, you should say so. When a visitor refunds an affiliate product that they bought on your recommendations, chances are they will never buy anything from you in the future. You want to build a long term business instead of one time customers.
